The sunlight was quickly fading, sinking past the horizon. Dark storm clouds spread across the sky, lit up by the orange rays. Sunset followed by a storm.
"Huff... huff... huff." Yuki lung herself backwards through the lush green trees, dodging each black kunai, leaping from branch to branch. 'Dammit.' Kunai and shuriken whizzed by, occasionally nicking her nearly bare arms and legs. Coming to an abrupt stop, catching her breath she gripped a tree trunk tightly with one hand. Untill a kunai with an exploding tag tied to the loop wedged itself beside her hand. She gasped, bolting thirty feet below with superhuman speed. Landing in the thick undergrowth, the explosion sent chunks of bark and sticks in every direction, giving Yuki a few horrible gashes. She winced from the stinging pain. 'Dammit, Kiba! At this rate I'll lose.'
"Ngh... Teme!" she growled, jerking a stick from her thigh. Burrowing deeper into the bushes, she crouched, making a few handsigns. 'Kusanagi Style: Falcon Reach!' An image of her surroundings soon appeared in her mind; tall, leafy green trees completely covered the entire area, parting once or twice to form plantless clearings. Then a flash of grey just ten meters away, and the snap of a twig. 'Heh. Screw that last thought. I'm gonna win.' She tracked the boy in grey, reaching out to grab him in her mind. Falcon talons ripped through the trees, knocking some down with loud snap-cracks and crashes.
"Agh!" sounded a voice. Wihout hesitation, Yuki leapt up above the trees, performing a handsign. 'Subtitution Jutsu.' Weapons appeared in her hands as she began to spin like a drill, throwing them everywhichway. As she tossed the last one, a purple kunai, the grey clad boy appeared, delivering fierce blows. The substitue disappeared as if on cue, allowing for Yuki to transform and leap back up from the branh she was recently lodged into. Twisting gracefully, she brought her leg down fiercly on the boy's head, throwing in some harsh punches. With a side-kick, the boy flew through branches and skid across a clearing, scabbed-over gashes reopening.
Yuki flickered, reappearing in a crouching position right next to her opponent, a look of disapproval etched onto her face. Stepping over him, she dropped down, sitting on his stomach and pinning him down with a kunai at his neck. A sly grin spread across her face. But he kicked her off, sending her six feet up. He bolted to his feet, watching in awe as the confused, purple-headed girl seemed to jump in mid-air, reaching new heights. With a graceful twist of her body, she landed delicately a few yards away. But she was different: hair tangled, messy, and wild, fingers like claws, teeth like fangs, contacts bleeding from her eyes and returning them to their natural ice blue and lime green colors. She looked feral. She looked like Naruto when the nine-tails leaked out.
'The fuck is happening?! This isn't me! Agh! Kiba! Help me! Help me stop this now!' She wasn't even in control of her body. She raced foreward, tackling Kiba and pinning him down again. Feet squeezing him to keep him immobilized, a snarl firmly planted on her face, she pulled an arm back in preperation for a harsh and violent gash to Kiba's face. But this clever boy managed to wriggle out of her grasp, sliding away.
"Huff. Huff. Huff. Damn..." he muttered, reaching into his pouch and pulling out a smoke bomb. Tensing, he rushed towards the growling girl, letting go of the bomb in his hand. Smoke spun around her, killing her five senses almost instantly.
'Thanks, Kiba.' A swift kick to her temple and she collapsed into the dirt, huffing and grunting. When Kiba made another effort to hit her, trying to make sure that she was out of the feral state, Yuki's hand shot up and tightly gripped his leg. Pulling him harshly under her, crashing into the dirt, she straddled him, gashes on her arms and legs gushing blood. She held his arms together with one hand, scrutinizing his face. 'Why are you so cute? With your red-violet clan markings and your feisty eyes... I can only love you more,' she thought abstractly.
Kiba glared up at her softening face, lips curled back in a snarl, teeth showing brightly in the darkness. "You're mad at me..., aren't you?" Yuki asked quietly, a pained crack in her voice. She rolled off of him, laying beside him with her arms at her sides, chest heaving, throat burning. Staring blindly at the sky, too full of mixed and clashing emotions, she saw a stream of jagged lightening, and a boom of thunder ripped across the atmosphere.
An incredibally long silence stretched between the huffing teens. It took around five minutes for Kiba to hiss out his answer. "Obviously."
"But... why?" Yuki's voice was tired and broken, making Kiba flinch slightly.
"Because you beat me. Again," he snarled. 'I can't let up on my mood. I can't show her that I'm weak.' They remained side by side, lying there as rain starting to trickle softly.
'So he's mad at me. But to what extent? How angry with me is he? I don't wanna stick around. I'm getting wet and he's mad at me. The last thing I wanna do is piss him off more.'
She exhaled deeply. "Do you hate me?" Crossing her arms over her nicely developed chest, she winced from the pain in her body.
'How in the hell is she gonna aske me that?! Agh! Dammit. Is that what I did to her? Is my mood what caused her to ask that? I'm only mad because this is nineteenth time she's kicked my ass. In a row..... How could I hate her? I fucking love her. With her beautiful eyes, beautiful face, ass-kicking skills, body... intelligence, strength. Ugh. But my dumbass had to be an asshole... Damn...' He sighed, expelling most of his anger. "No."
Another whip of lightening and thunder. Yuki struggled to get up to her feet, wobbling violently. As soon as she was at her feet, a loud crash sounded a few meters away. Kiba was instantly in front of her, kunai in hand, a fierce glint in his eye. And then an older teen emerged. And this guy looked a lot like Kakashi, just younger.
Yuki pushed Kiba out of her way, hands balled into tight fists, a snarl planted on her face. "Who the fuck are you?!"
