Nothing but the memories that made her brain sore passed through her mind. It was like she couldn't think about anything else other than the moments she shared with her adoptive family. And some of which she didn't know she even had. Forgetful little one...
~*~*~
"Oi! C'mon already, Vell-jisan!" she howled, gripping his leg tightly and desperately trying to drag him out the door. Blinking, the realization of what shee called him shocked her to some degree. But still, she tugged, harder and harder with each protest. "Kakashi'll get mad and ground us both if we don't meet him on time!"
She knew he didn't care about Kakashi's anger level. The boy probably cared more about his damn yogurt than his brother, Yuki thought, frustated as hell. Time to bring out the heavy artilery. "Even worse, you won't get anymore of your precious fucking yogurt!" He didn't seem to react to that.
"Let go of me, dammit!" Vell howled back, struggling free of his niece's grasp.
She gave him a cold stare. "It's your funeral." A small smile spread across her face.
~*~*~
'Another...one?'
~*~*~
Kiba had his arms encircling Yuki's torso, almost protectively, a wide fanged grin etched onto his face. Akamaru was lickig the girl's neck, excited to see his favorite human female again. The animalistic trio was positioned next to an irritated Vell, followed by a smiling-under-his-mask Kakashi.
Yuki held her fingers behind her uncle's head, detirmined to embarrass him on this little photo-excursion. With an arm around her dog-like Mutt-face's shoulders, she accidently hit the back of Vell's head as soon as the unbearable flash of light marked the moment the picture was taken.
Gasping loudly, she lost her balance and took everyone down with her unintentionally. Embarrassed herself, she turned a shade of bright red. Unnatural for her. After about a minute of lying there, dog-piled, she burst out in a fit of breathless laughing.
~*~*~
"Why is..." she said aloud, quietly but still legible.
~*~*~
She smiled slyly at Kakashi and Vell, standing in front of them as they sat on the couch lazily. "I've decided--"
Kakashi coughed, making her smile falter. She shot him a glare.
"--that we're going out to eat more often." Why she made it an announcement, se'l never quite understand. "Because both Kakashi and I can't cook to save our lives."
A cautious look from Vell.
Smile=gone.
"I'm not that bad..." Kakashi mused.
"Yes you are." Her attention shot back to Kakashi.
"Nu-uh!"
"Yeah-huh!" She was serious. He was not.
"Nope."
"Yes you are, dammit!" Turning her heating gaze to her uncle, she huffed. "Isn't he?!"
~*~*~
"...it that whenever...something between me and my...family happens...I never remember?" Her question was so innocent and soft... Anyone who passed by would mistake her for someone else. Even though it was so clear that she was herself.
She rolled over, the memories replaced by a connection to someone else's mind. Frustrated and desperate thoughts. 'Who...?' she thought, not realizing that she had spoken in their mind, not being able to.
With a little luck, it'd be Kiba's brain she had somehow lodged herself into. But then again, most likely not.
A small smile touched her unconscious lips. "Hmm..." Quiet. "I wonder...ifI could--" she broke off, her eyes flapping open. How long had it been? There was a blanket tied around her, and it wasn't exactly comfertable. 'I was talking in my sleep again, wasn't I?'
Too tired to be angry with herself for doing something stupid, a familiar voice whispered down the hall.
